USA’s world record holder Ryan Crouser will look to impress the London crowds as he leads the men’s shot put field at the London Athletics Meet on Saturday 20 July.
Crouser established himself in the record books with an incredible throw of 23.56m in Los Angeles in 2023, a significant world record as the event continues to push to new boundaries.
The American has two Olympic gold medals to his name following his successes in Rio and Tokyo, but most recently he has won back-to-back world titles in Oregon and Budapest making him a dominant force in a truly stacked international field in recent times.
Crouser has experienced successes on his last two trips to the UK, winning at the 2023 edition of the London Athletics Meet, whilst also taking the world indoor title in Glasgow back in March.
The London Athletics Meet – which will see the return of the world’s best athletes to the London Stadium following a record-breaking sell-out in 2023 – is the tenth meeting of the 2024 Wanda Diamond League series. Taking place six days before the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, the event will serve as the perfect prelude to Paris.
Tickets to the 2024 London Athletics Meet start from £23 for adults, £5 for juniors and are on track to sell-out in record time. Secure your place to the world’s biggest one day athletics meet at https://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/event/35005F106C4B097B
