Crouser, who won his first world title in Oregon last year, is already a legendary figure in the sport having won Olympic titles in both Rio (2016) and Tokyo (2020).
The 31-year-old holds the outright world record with a mark of 23.37m which came in Hayward Fields in Eugene back in 2021. He also has the indoor world record in his collection.
With 10 Wanda Diamond League victories to his name during his stellar career to date, he will be targeting another to add to his roll of honour, and a first in the UK.
It will be the first time since the 2017 World Athletics Championships that Crouser has competed in the London Stadium where he finished sixth overall on that occasion.
With the event coming just a matter of week’s before Crouser targets a defence of his World title in Budapest, the London stop will be a significant fixture in his preparations.
On competing in the capital city on Sunday 23 July, Crouser said, “I am really looking forward to competing in the London Stadium once again. It has been a few years since I have thrown there, so it will be great to have this competition just a few weeks before the World Athletics Championships.
“The Diamond League events always bring a strong competition, so I look forward to being part of a great show with my fellow shot putters. I look forward to seeing all the UK fans in July.”
