Malaika Mihambo (GER) will go head-to-head with GB & NI’s Katarina Johnson-Thompson in the women’s long jump at the London Athletics Meet on Saturday 20 July.
The German was in sensational form at the recent European Championships, leaping 7.22m to take the gold medal in Rome, her second continental title.
The reigning Olympic champion has seven Diamond League victories to her name, with three of those coming on UK soil including in London at the 2019 edition of the event.
Mihambo is currently the world-lead in the long jump so far in 2024 and joins world heptathlon champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson on the runway in front of more than 50,000 fans in the London Stadium.
The London Athletics Meet – which will see the return of the world’s best athletes to the London Stadium following a record-breaking sell-out in 2023 – is the tenth meeting of the 2024 Wanda Diamond League series. Taking place six days before the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, the event will serve as the perfect prelude to Paris.
Tickets to the 2024 London Athletics Meet start from £23 for adults, £5 for juniors and are on track to sell-out in record time. Secure your place to the world’s biggest one day athletics meet at https://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/event/35005F106C4B097B
