Moon (née Nageotte) is the 2022 world indoor silver medallist and has a personal best of 4.95m from 2021, a mark that ranks her fourth on the global all-time list. She had a fantastic indoor season that concluded with her winning her third US National Indoor Championships title in February, and she has been defeated only once this outdoor season to date.
Moon was announced last month for the London Athletics Meet alongside world silver medallist Sandi Morris (USA) and Olympic bronze medallist Holly Bradshaw (GBR).
Morris, runner-up at the last three editions of the global showpiece, is a two-time world indoor champion (2018 and 2022) and Olympic silver medallist from Rio 2016. She is the US (outdoor) record holder with a mark of 5.00m, the third-best jump ever. Her season’s best is 4.71m (Doha, 5 May). She jumped 4.61m for second at the US Nationals.
2013 European indoor champion and British record holder Bradshaw (4.90m, June 2021) is working her way back to fitness after being forced to withdraw from the opening meeting of the Wanda Diamond League series in Doha due to stiffness in her Achilles during her warmup.
The 2012 world indoor bronze medallist, who won European outdoor bronze in 2018, finished second in the UK Athletics Championships in Manchester on 8 July. It was a satisfying season’s best performance as she works towards qualification for the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
Tickets for the London Athletics Meet are on sale now with the majority of those remaining priced at £23 per adult and £5 per child.
