OLYMPIC CHAMPION LYLES LOOKING FORWARD TO ANOTHER FAST RUN IN LONDON

OLYMPIC CHAMPION LYLES LOOKING FORWARD TO ANOTHER FAST RUN IN LONDON

Reigning Olympic and world champion Noah Lyles will race over 100m at the London Athletics Meet (Saturday 19 July).

The US star – a triple gold medallist at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest over 100m, 200m and in the 4 x 100m relay – is a proven championship performer. He won gold in the 100m at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris in a lifetime best of 9.79, making him the 12th fastest man in history. He took bronze in the 200m despite struggling with Covid.

Prior to Paris, Lyles had excelled in London where he clocked 9.81 to take victory in a high quality 100m – his quickest ever at the time.

“My road to defending my world titles in Tokyo in September goes through London,” said the 27-year-old. “I’ve had great experiences there the last two years, running some of my fastest times, and I look forward to another in July. See you there!”

Lyles – who won 200m gold at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene in a national record of 19.31 (third in the world all-time), successfully defending the title he’d won in Doha 2019 – opened his 2025 season at the Tom Jones Memorial in Florida in April with a 400m PB (45.87).

The London Athletics Meet – the world’s biggest one-day athletics event – is the eleventh meeting of the 2025 Wanda Diamond League. The series, which will pay out a record total of 9.24 million US dollars in prize money, comprises 15 of the most prestigious events in global track and field across four different continents and started with Xiamen on 26 April. It concludes with a single final across two days in Zurich (27-28 August).

Fewer than 100 tickets remain. Tickets are expected to sell out within hours, so don’t miss your chance to witness one of the sport’s biggest stars in action.
