Six world-class British athletes are on the start list for the Novuna London Athletics Meet taking place on Saturday, 18 July.
Charlie Dobson, Phoebe Gill, Morgan Lake, Hannah Nuttall, Megan Keith and Innes FitzGerald will all take to the London Stadium in front of a big home crowd. Organisers can share that 50,000 tickets have already been sold for the London leg of the Wanda Diamond League series.
Charlie Dobson returns to London after a sensational victory at last year’s meet. The 26-year-old from Colchester judged his race to perfection, surging from seventh place in the final 100m to claim victory in a personal best of 44.14.
Dobson will line up in a highly competitive 400m this summer, facing British record holder Matt Hudson-Smith and Olympic champion Quincy Hall.
“The last two London diamond leagues I have run have been incredible. Running in front of such a huge home crowd is special. Especially last year, when I somehow managed to win it.
“That will be awesome to go back out there and run in front of the same crowd again. I can’t wait.”
Three-time Olympian Morgan Lake enjoyed a breakthrough moment in London last summer, securing her first Diamond League high jump victory with a clearance of 1.96m.
She went on to clear 2.00m at the Diamond League Final in Zurich, setting a new British record, before captaining the Novuna GB & NI team at the World Championships in Tokyo.
A strong British trio will feature in the women’s 3000m, with Megan Keith, Hannah Nuttall and Innes FitzGerald all confirmed.
After finishing an impressive 10th in the women’s 10,000m at the Tokyo World Championships, Megan Keith has started her 2026 season strong. She set a new 10k road European record of 30:07 in February. And continued that form on the track at the Bislett Games in Oslo, clocking a personal best and a new Scottish record of 8:28.35 in the 3000m. .
Innes FitzGerald continues to rise as one of Britain’s long-standing most exciting young talents. She broke Zola Budd’s long-standing European U20 5000m record at last year’s London Diamond League meet, running a remarkable 14:39.56.
After making her senior World Championships debut in Tokyo in the 5000m, she went on to claim a third consecutive U20 European Cross Country title in Portugal at the end of last year. The 20-year-old student opened her 2026 campaign in the 3000m in Oslo, finishing in 9th with a time of 8:33.66.
The third British athlete competing in the 3000m at the London Stadium is two-time British Champion in the 5000m, Hannah Nuttall. She placed an impressive eighth in the 5000m at last year’s World Championships, and also competed in Oslo, finishing 12th with a time of 8:35.20
Nineteen-year-old Phoebe Gill will line up in a stacked women’s 800m alongside Keely Hodgkinson and Georgia Hunter Bell.
Gill has enjoyed a rapid rise in recent years. In 2023, she became the British U17 record holder over both 800m and 1500m, and in 2024 reached the semi-finals of the Olympic Games 800m at just 17 years old.
She has carried that momentum into 2026, setting a 1500m personal best of 4:04.53 in May before returning to the 800m with victory in Marseille in 2:00.81.
